Taylor UK now supplies Middleby UK’s MK electric griddles from MagiKitch’n.
MagiKitch’n is an American manufacturer which has been making commercial cooking equipment since 1942. The MK has been designed as a powerful and easy to maintain griddle ideal for a wide range of uses.
The MK is available in a choice of sizes, the MKE 24 being the smallest model. With dimensions of 61cm deep x 102cm wide x 107cm high, it has a 61cm x 60cm cooking plate, which is 2.5cm thick, and comes with legs which are removable if siting it flush on a worktop.
Constructed with double walled, reinforced stainless steel sides, the griddle plate is protected by tapered side and rear splash guards designed to stop debris from accumulating. A front mounted grease chute collects all run-off into a 14 litre capacity grease box, with integrated quick lift handle for easy removal. The MKE 24 is designed with no exposed fasteners to allow for easy cleaning.
The griddle plate is driven by powerful heating elements made of Incoloy, a high-heat alloy that are pressure clamped to the unit’s underside. It has three independently controlled heating zones capable of operating at temperatures ranging from 93°C to 288°C. Each zone can be set to a different temperature via a simple dial control, or switched off entirely to save electricity during quieter periods. Operating temperatures are controlled via powerful snap-action thermostats that quickly adjust to changes to guarantee quality cooking results.
“Freshly grilled food is always popular, but griddles can be difficult to keep clean, and can be quite power hungry,” says David Rees, marketing manager of Taylor UK. “The MagiKitch’n range has been designed to be simple to maintain and clean, while the individual cooking zones make it possible to reduce energy consumption, as you only heat what you need.”
